Steam cores frostpunk12/7/2023 ![]() Never gotten a positive result after having already rolled a negative one.Hey guys, I just finished "The Refugees" on normal (accepted all lords except the ones that wanted to die in Frostland, resolved class conflict). Is it somehow different if you use the daily autosave? Because I've attempted the save/load trick on the Gloomy Cave (survivors trapped by bears), Tesla City (lightning shield) AND in Fall of Winterhome on the trailer falling through the ice. Same thing for the bears at the cave.Įvery time I've tried this, I still get the same result after loading. Then you don't lose the cores they're carrying. You can just save your game when you get the notification the scout has arrived at Tesla, then keep reloading if the scout dies. Getting to Scouting as quickly as possible may also hamper your early game, depending on what sacrifices you end up making to research and build the Beacon as early as possible in order to get the exploring going. ![]() You would also want a second Scout to be the one to actually explore Tesla City, because if the Scout doing the exploring is holding any Steam Cores, and is lost in deactivating the Lightning Shield, you also lose the Steam Cores. This would come at the cost of reduced population collection, as you'd have to ignore a number of locations with Survivors in order to get to first Winterhome as soon as possible, then navigate through The American Camp, the Temporary Settlement, and the Fishing Village to discover Tesla City. Originally posted by PhailRaptor:The key to this would be accessing Tesla City as early as possible, and building an Outpost on it immediately. Not sure if I got every timing right though, so if someone manages to squeeze a couple more steam cores out of tesla city, please let me know how you did it :) This is just a rough guidline, in my playthrough I saved at every turn, paused the game the minute after shipment reached my city so I could start another one, etc. Repeat this process until around day 38-39 when tesla city gets frozen due to the storm. Due to a bug, this will make another steam core shipment start, meaning you don't have to wait 24 hours for each steam core, only about every 16. Once the steam core reaches your city, immediately dismantle the outpost and build it again. Given your upgrades, it should take about 15-16 hours for the steam core to arrive at your city.Ħ. Once you reach tesla city, immediately set up an outpost. Repeat this process, until you reach Tesla city.ĥ. Even though it can't explore each location, the fact that it is at the location will make the game think that the location is discovered, giving your scouts who are still on the way a speed boost in reaching it. Since it is faster, it will reach each location on the way to tesla city long before the scout does. The reason you send both is that the outpost team is MUCH faster than the scout, even with the speed upgrades. The moment winterhome is doscovered, send both your scout AND the outpost team to the location that will lead to tesla city. Have an Outpost Depot built, and have an outpost team and scout team in standby at your city.Ĥ. Use this time to reasearch the following: Boosted scout sleds, and Faster outpost teams.ģ. Wait until the literal last second to discover Winterhome (it will automatically discover around noon on day 15).Ģ. Here is a step by step process of what I did.ġ. Due to this, it is imperitave that you wait as long as possible to dicover winterhome, as it is basically free time, and you will need that time to reasearch a few important techs. (once I found winterhome on day 4, and the game was over before day 40). The amount of extra time you have in the game is dependant on how long it takes you to find winterhome. After the 15 days is up, you will get the refugees starting to come, from which you will have about another 18 days until the game is over, since the max is 48 days. this is because once you do, the londoners start the 15 day countdown of leaving. Here's why: The length of the game is determined once you find/discover winterhome. Actually, due to the way the game mechanics work, you ideally want to wait as long as possible before discovering winterhome.
